Bret and Emma were married in Suwannee, GA, in Bret’s aunt and uncle’s backyard. There was room for the ceremony, tented reception and a separate area for the kids. The setting was perfect for the wedding - the house was modern, yet rustic, and the backyard provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. The trees were even frequented by deer!
As you can tell from the pictures, Bret and Emma are huge UGA fans. When I first met the couple, we planned an engagement shoot on the UGA campus, and the Bulldogs theme continued throughout the wedding as well. The colors red and black are one indicator, as well as the groom’s ring. Emma even surprised Bret with UGA cufflinks!
I enjoyed getting to know Bret and Emma and learning about their personalities. Bret is always the life of the party. He loves to entertain and make people laugh - especially when he’s surrounded by friends and family. Plus, he knows more UGA trivia than I thought was humanly possible. Emma, on the other hand, comes off as a very laid back and “go with the flow” person, but she’s not afraid to speak up for what she likes. Their personality traits make them a perfect couple, and at the end of the day, they always find a way to do things to make each other happy.
The entire wedding was planned and coordinated by Bret’s mom, Tamila, which meant everything had a personal touch. Family was central to this wedding, and I loved being a part of their story. The moments both Bret and Emma shared with Bret’s parents were some of the best I’ve ever captured.
